Brennan’s is a Creole restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. It is known for its lavish breakfast and for serving Bananas Foster, invented at a previous location, Owen Brennan’s Vieux Carre Restaurant on Bourbon Street. Brennan’s is credited with inventing the Bloody Bull cocktail.
What to wear. Casual chic: Wear dressy, casual and comfortable outfits for lunch or dinner at upscale eateries. Most restaurateurs, especially in the French Quarter, don’t insist on a dress code , but wearing something a little bit fancy can make the experience more memorable.

Commander’s Palace has great lunch specials which include 25 cent martinis (limit 3) which come in a choice of colorful flavors or standard fare. This is an institution in NOLA and everyone should dine here once in their lives. There is a dress code, no shorts are allowed, so be aware.
Although Commander’s Palace now only requests jackets (and forbids shorts, T-shirts and open-toed shoes for men), Martin estimates that 75 percent of men wear jackets and 50 percent wear ties. The dress code at Gautreau’s asks for “business casual” and specifies no flip-flops, shorts or, for men, sandals.
Ralph & Kacoo’s has closed for an extensive remodel and the general manager said other options are also being considered, including selling or moving the longtime Baton Rouge seafood restaurant.

Galatoire’s dress code is business casual for lunch. Collared shirts are required for gentlemen. Jackets are required for gentlemen starting at 5 p.m. nightly and all-day Sunday. Darker jeans without holes or rips are allowed.
Don’t wander too far from the well-lit French Quarter streets, as criminals may target individuals walking in dark or dimly lit areas. While the quarter is considered fairly safe , several of the neighborhoods surrounding it have a high crime rate.
For Bourbon st you should wear a very revealing dress and open toe high heels and your husband should wear jorts with a Hawaiian shirt tucked in, socks, sandals and a fanny pack. Of course you should both be wearing tons of mardi gras beads since its October.
