Most of the Kitchen Nightmares eateries are now closed We did a quick update on those statistics for 2018 and found that only 15 restaurants out of the 77 that appeared on the show between 2007 and 2014 are still open . That means that for nearly 81 percent of these restaurants the ” nightmare ” is over.

In October 2013, the Gordon Ramsay at The London restaurant in New York lost its two Michelin stars due to issues encountered by the Michelin reviewers. The guide’s director Michael Ellis stated that he was served “some very erratic meals” and also experienced “issues with consistency.”

Re: Why is it called Hell’s Kitchen ? “Originally the expression ” Hell’s Kitchen ” referred to a rough neighbourhood on the South Side of London. The term in reference to New York first appeared in print on September 22, 1881 when a New York Times reporter went to a police guide to get details of a multiple murder there.
Peter’s Italian Restaurant – closed The episode features brawls, shouting matches and intense discussion over broken freezers. Though Ramsay eventually managed to persuade Peter to clean up his act, it seems a leopard cannot change its spots. Peter’s closed in 2008.
Gordon Ramsay has many shows on TV right now, but Kitchen Nightmares is not one of them. After attempting to save a few too many unsalvageable restaurants, the famous curse word-loving chef decided to kill that series a few years ago.
Not only are the diners not “real” (at least in the sense that they’re not everyday, ordinary people but are somehow connected to the show), but neither is the restaurant itself. It makes sense, when you think about it. Hell’s Kitchen is a television show, after all. Television shows are shot on soundstages.

Finn McCool’s closed in March 2012 after an issue with the lease and was boarded up in June 2012. Since the Finn McCool’s closed, Brian opened Shuckers with a childhood friend in 2011 and has worked at Oakland’s Restaurant Marina. He currently works at Sundays on the Bay and had expanded into catering.
