Of the 2,606 victims killed inside the World Trade Center and on the ground in New York City during the September 11 attacks, some have estimated that at least 200 fell or jumped to their deaths, while other estimates put the number at half of that or fewer.
Some 15 people below floor 22 survived the collapse of WTC 1, later escaping or being rescued from the rubble. Only 18 people escaped from the impact zone of the South Tower (floors 77 to 85) after it was struck by United Airlines Flight 175, and no-one escaped from the floors above it.
Stanley Praimnath (born 1956) is a survivor of the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center. He worked as an executive for Fuji Bank on the 81st floor of the South Tower ( WTC 2 ), the second tower struck that day.

No one was able to escape the North Tower from the impact zone or above, as all stairwells and elevator shafts on those floors were destroyed or blocked. After the collapse, light dust reached as far as the Empire State Building, located 2.93 miles (4.72 km) away.
