Yanni’s is a family run restaurant, currently owned by Peter Augustio as of 2007 but previously owned by his father. Initially the business was a success but the customers are dwindling, they are in debt and the bills aren’t being paid.
The Greek is still open and their Facebook page shows regular specials, events and new menu items. Yelp reviews are mostly positive but reviews from regulars shortly after the show was filmed didn’t like all of Gordon’s menu changes.

On a positive note, around 39% of restaurants featured on the show are still open.

Prohibition Grille closed in July 2017. Rocky opened his own restaurant called Ole Soul Southern Creole and reviews were good prior to it’s closure in September 2017. Prohibition Grille was aired on 26 April 2013, the episode was filmed in November 2012 and is Kitchen Nightmares season 6 episode 13.

Not only are the diners not “real” (at least in the sense that they’re not everyday, ordinary people but are somehow connected to the show), but neither is the restaurant itself. It makes sense, when you think about it. Hell’s Kitchen is a television show, after all. Television shows are shot on soundstages.
